2min Video Walkthrough of our process

Yes. Living in Florida does not affect your eligibility for Mexican dual citizenship. If at least one of your parents was born in Mexico, you may already qualify. Many people across Orlando, Miami, Tampa, and Jacksonville begin the process without realizing they already have the legal right to Mexican nationality.

One of the biggest frustrations for Florida residents is dealing with limited appointment availability and inconsistent consulate requirements. Some applicants are told they need additional documents that were never mentioned online, while others wait months for an opening at the Mexican Consulate in Orlando or Miami. These delays often discourage people from moving forward.

The process normally starts with:

  • Your U.S. birth certificate
  • Your parent’s Mexican birth certificate
  • A valid government-issued ID

Some cases may also require marriage certificates, apostilles, or legal corrections if names or dates do not match exactly. Even small inconsistencies between U.S. and Mexican records can create major delays if not fixed beforehand.

This is extremely common. Many Florida families no longer have access to old Mexican records, especially if parents moved to the U.S. decades ago. Others discover spelling mistakes, missing last names, or incorrect dates that prevent the application from moving forward. In many situations, these records can still be located and corrected remotely without traveling to Mexico.

Not necessarily. Many Florida residents choose to avoid the consulate process entirely because of long wait times and confusing appointment systems. With DNExpress, much of the process, including document review, corrections, and registration, can often be handled remotely, helping applicants avoid repeated visits and unnecessary delays.
